The word Animique is derived from Latin - ANIMA - Soul, spirit, vital principal. |
||||||
Animiques are a range of innovative contemporary figures which relate to the soul and are primarily spiritual. Making a distinction between the physical life and the animation of the human form. Their dreamlike concept of animation, appears devoted to a creation of the modern as sheer simultaneity, all its moments existing at once, quantum physics-style, in some accessible elsewhere, amenable to recombination and contradictions in itself. Having an appearance of being clothed yet undressed at the same time, they are a stylish animation of a mediaeval form, perhaps elfish, magical and almost gothic, however they are very humanistic too. These handcrafted figures add an atmosphere of intrigue and serenity to any environment. Fully weatherproof, unique, individual and each one created by Susan who is the UK's leading fabric sculptor! Each Animique is unique yet possibly similar in pose to another animique due to the nature of their creation. You can be guaranteed of it's own individuality and character. |

To view sculptures 'in-situ' in our customers gardens and read their comments please click here. Susan's sculptures are created using colour in the resin hardener then highlighted with various complimentary shades/finishes, as environmental conditions vary from place to place please expect all colour to fade in varying degrees over time dependant on where the sculpture is situated, this is a normal process with any outdoor object and should add to the character of the work. Please contact Susan to order/commision your own individually created fabric sculpture or sculptural garden art. Every sculpture is UNIQUE as each one is created by hand from the making of the frame to the 'dressing' and completion of the figure/art so although may be similar no two are ever identical. Perhaps a personalised gift created especially for a friend or someone in your family. The website is updated as often as possible in between making statues and shows! Please check back as often as you like. Please be aware that all images and text on the Mouseandmoon.com website is copyright and belongs solely to Susan Long. Unauthorised use of any material, articles, images copied from this website is prohibited. (All rights reserved). Although the process of creating the fabric sculptures with a resin hardener is public knowledge the copyright and design of all Susan's sculptures and art remains the property of Susan Long © 2006 - 2009 PLEASE NOTE: Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of colour reproduction in the images of the sculptures but cannot be guaranteed due to the many varied digital and printing options available. CARE INSTRUCTIONS: As every garden sculpture will weather we advise that should you want to clean your sculpture please use a soft cloth/soft brush with some cold water to gently take off any sign of weathering - Do NOT use a pressure hose as this will damage the fabric. |
